I am so glad that I recently got to work this Rebecca & Josh, but I truly do wish it was under different circumstances. Unfortunately, due to the current pandemic this incredible couple had to postpone their fall wedding this year. Rebecca & Josh reached out to me searching for a photographer to help them honor their original October 2020 wedding date by having some portraits taken on what would have been their wedding day. We found our perfect match in each other after I shared about the Reclaim the Day sessions I had been offering to my other 2020 couples who were facing the same heartbreak.
Rebecca & Josh are such a fun couple and their story is so special! Rebecca is originally from Nebraska and it wasn’t until she moved out to Maryland just a few years ago that she ended up meeting Josh. After getting engaged in the fall last year, they had been looking forward to having their October wedding back in Nebraska later this year. The pandemic brought their big day to a halt and the countdown to say “I do” restarted for them. I love that this couple recognizes the importance of doing something special and meaningful on what would have been their wedding day, and I couldn’t have been more honored to be the one to help them capture and reclaim their day!
Rebecca & Josh wanted to shoot at a location with fall foliage (they planned an October wedding for a reason!) so we shot at the incredibly beautiful Savage Mill Trail, and this location DELIVERED! Savage Mill had epic fall foliage and the spot we found down by the water blew my mind! Rebecca & Josh were amazing to work with, they trusted me when I was leading them down some slippery & steep trails, they focused on themselves and their love (which comes across SO clearly in their pictures) and they leaned in to having fun, celebrating themselves and enjoying their portrait session. Rebecca & Josh came dressed to impress and I owe Rebecca a huge thank you for her unbelievable dress and all the twilling shots she let me put her through (“Spin her again!”).
This couple & session was so amazing and they certainly reclaimed their day!
