As a wedding photographer with years of experience capturing love stories in the Baltimore area, I’ve had the privilege of working in some of the city’s most beautiful venues. Each one offers something unique, and as a 2024 bride myself, I know that finding the perfect match for your wedding day is a big decision!
Each of these wedding venues in Baltimore offers something unique, but what they all have in common is the potential to design your wedding in a way that’s entirely your own. As a seasoned wedding photographer, I bring both expertise and a deep appreciation for Baltimore’s wedding venues to every event I capture! So today, I’m sharing four of my favorite Baltimore wedding venues that you will love, each with its own charm and character.
Mt. Washington Mill Dye House
If you’re dreaming of a wedding that blends urban chic with a cozy atmosphere, Mt. Washington Mill Dye House is an ideal venue! This venue masterfully combines industrial rawness with modern elegance, offering exposed brick walls, metal beam ceilings, and large windows that flood the space with natural light. As a former industrial mill, it integrates the restored elements seamlessly with modern amenities, so you can have a rustic-industrial wedding while still keeping the details elegant.
It’s perfect for couples seeking a rustic-industrial look with a touch of sophistication and a warm and welcoming vibe. While portrait locations are limited on-site, the beauty of the venue makes up for it. For softer, greenery-filled portraits, I recommend scheduling photos at a nearby outdoor location before arriving at the venue. As a Baltimore wedding photographer, I have plenty of great recommendations for places where we can take stunning portraits if you want a botanical backdrop!

Baltimore Museum of Art
The Baltimore Museum of Art (BMA) is a stunning venue that seamlessly blends sophistication with architectural grandeur. The BMA holds a special place in my heart—I got married here! While I haven’t photographed a wedding at this venue yet, my firsthand experience gives me a unique insight into capturing weddings here. I am intimately familiar with the space, the thoughtful details that go into planning a wedding here, and, most importantly, the kind of imagery that captures the magic of this stunning location. From intimate details to awe-inspiring portraits, I know exactly how to highlight the beauty of this iconic space!
With classical architecture, marble floors, and grand staircases, the BMA creates a refined and timeless setting for your wedding. This venue is ideal for couples seeking a classic-meets-modern aesthetic with an added infusion of art and culture. While the museum’s 5 p.m. closing time means ceremonies can’t start until 6 p.m., it’s perfect for couples who plan to do a first look. You’ll have plenty of time for photos before your ceremony. You can use this venue for Ceremony, Cocktail Hour, and Reception, but you will need to plan a space for the getting ready portion of your day. It’s close to many luxury hotels, and I can help you find the best suites for your getting-ready space!
George Peabody Library
Named one of the most beautiful libraries in the world, the George Peabody Library is a venue like no other. Its towering bookshelves, ornate ironwork, and marble floors create a stunning setting filled with historic charm and timeless elegance.
This venue is perfect for couples dreaming of a wedding with grandeur and sophistication—think “Beauty and the Beast” library vibes. While the rental period begins at 5 p.m., it works wonderfully for couples doing a first look or hosting their ceremony at a separate location. And where there isn’t an on-site getting-ready location, it’s a central Baltimore location, which gives you options for hotel suites within a short distance.
With its neoclassical design and unmatched character, the George Peabody Library offers a one-of-a-kind backdrop for a truly unforgettable wedding.
Butterfly Room
If you’re looking for a venue with Baltimore’s edgy, eclectic vibe, The Butterfly Room is a must-see. Located in a furniture factory, this unique space combines industrial chic with a modern touch. With exposed brick, steel beams, and large windows, it’s a blank slate that allows you to fully customize your wedding! It’s perfect for couples who want to truly make the space their own.
If you love raw, urban aesthetics, you will feel right at home here! The venue includes essential rentals like tables, chairs, and furniture, making the planning process easier. I’ve had the pleasure of photographing a wedding at the Butterfly Room as an associate photographer for Rachel Dibs Photography, and I was blown away by how couples can truly make the space their own.
