Karly & Brad’s Summer Celebration

Karly and Brad’s love story began with a chance meeting in Las Vegas, the kind of serendipity you might expect in a romantic comedy. After years of long-distance dating, Brad joined Karly in Baltimore, where they built a home just outside the city with their two pups. Their August wedding at Mt. Washington Mill Dye House was filled with the same energy that first sparked their connection: joyful, stylish, and full of meaning.

As a Baltimore wedding photographer, I always look forward to working at the Dye House. Its brick walls, wood beams, and tall factory windows create a mix of character and warmth that photographs beautifully, especially in the glow of summer light.

Why Choose Mt. Washington Mill Dye House for Your Wedding

Set in the historic Mt. Washington neighborhood, the Dye House is one of Baltimore’s most beloved wedding venues. The building dates back to the early 1800s and has been transformed into a modern event space while keeping its original mill charm. Couples can exchange vows in the Dye House Room surrounded by brick and beams, or step outside to the courtyard for an open-air ceremony. Both spaces transition seamlessly into cocktail hour and a reception that feels inviting and personal.

What I notice when I photograph here is how well the venue flows. We can step outside for golden-hour portraits in the courtyard, then move back indoors to a reception already alive with candlelight and music. It is a venue that gives you both striking editorial backdrops and spaces where candid moments unfold naturally.

Ceremony and Style

For their summer celebration, Karly and Brad chose a ceremony inside the Dye House Room, where the tall windows filled the space with soft light. The brick walls and wood beams created a warm, timeless setting that contrasted beautifully with their ivory and peach florals from Marigold Flowers by Bailey. Guests waved wooden fans to stay cool as they watched the couple exchange vows, a thoughtful touch that added both comfort and charm.

Mt. Washington Mill Dye House Reception Highlights

After an outdoor cocktail hour with signature drinks including a citrus and mint Southside and a rich espresso martini, guests returned to the Dye House Room for dinner and dancing. A live band set the tone for the night, and the energy never slowed. The space glowed with candlelight, and the combination of music, laughter, and movement made the reception feel unforgettable.

From my perspective, these are the moments that define a Dye House wedding. The industrial textures give an editorial edge to portraits, while the atmosphere inside fills each candid with life. By the time the dance floor was packed and the band hit their stride, it was clear that Karly and Brad had created the kind of evening their guests would always remember.

Wedding Photography Highlights

What stood out most to me was how seamlessly the day flowed. Because we planned portraits before the ceremony, Karly and Brad were able to join their cocktail hour and enjoy every moment with their friends and family. That decision, guided in partnership with the team at Blake Events, made the entire day feel effortless.

The courtyard offered glowing evening portraits, while the Dye House Room gave us dynamic reception images full of color, texture, and emotion. Photographing at Mt. Washington Mill Dye House always inspires me, and Karly and Brad’s wedding was no exception.

A Summer Wedding to Remember

Karly and Brad’s Mt Washington Mill Dye House wedding captured everything I love about photographing in Baltimore: history, style, and celebrations full of heart. The venue’s mix of industrial character and modern warmth set the stage for a day that was both elegant and alive with energy.

If you are planning your own Mt. Washington Mill Dye House wedding, I would love to connect. As a Baltimore wedding photographer, I focus on capturing both the striking editorial portraits and the candid moments that make your celebration feel effortless.
