Karly and Brad’s love story is straight out of a rom-com! The two met while vacationing with friends in Las Vegas at the beginning of 2020. Sparks flew, and they knew their chance meet-cute had the potential to become something more. After several years of long-distance dating, Brad joined Karly in Baltimore. Now, they share a home outside the city with their adorable fur babies. I’m so glad I could photograph their August wedding at Mt. Washington Mill Dye House – one of my favorite venues in Baltimore!
A Customized Wedding Photography Package
During my discovery call with Karly, we discussed her and Brad’s wedding day plans and their top priorities for their photography services. Ultimately, we decided that a customized wedding photography package was the best fit for their needs. And that is why I create a custom package for all my wedding photography clients! This enables me to tailor their coverage hours to the structure of their day and the moments they want me to capture most.
For example, Karly and Brad wanted to enjoy their cocktail hour with their guests. They also wanted to listen to their live band play instead of being preoccupied with portraits. So, I helped them create a photography timeline that worked for them. I recommended scheduling a first look and all portraits before the ceremony so they could take full advantage of their time at the cocktail hour and reception. They took my advice, and the entire day ran so smoothly—no small thanks to their wedding planner, Emma Price of Blake Events!
Wedding at Mt. Washington Mill Dye House
The couple’s Baltimore wedding occurred at one of the city’s most charming historic venues, the Mt. Washington Mill Dye House. Capturing another wedding there was a true pleasure! With its exposed brick walls, plentiful windows, and a wood-beamed ceiling, the venue exudes an industrial-chic style while boasting abundant natural light. The Dye House Room, where Karly and Brad’s wedding ceremony and reception occurred, always leaves a lasting impression on guests. It also photographs beautifully!
The couple decorated their wedding events with ivory and peach flowers, courtesy of Marigold Flowers by Bailey, as a nod to summer. They also provided adorable wooden fans so their guests would stay cool and comfortable in the summer heat! The guests enjoyed fanning themselves as they took in the couple’s ceremony and celebrated at the outdoor cocktail hour afterward. Icy signature cocktails, including a citrus-and-mint-flavored “Baltimore Southside” and an espresso martini, provided another way to cool down before everyone reentered the Dye House Room for dinner and dancing.
I love photographing Mt. Washington Mill Dye House weddings, and Karly and Brad’s special day was no exception! I’m so glad this couple trusted me to capture this exciting chapter of their story. Whether you and your partner are planning a Baltimore wedding or dreaming of jetting off to your favorite destination to say “I do” (I love to travel!), let’s connect. We’ll work together to create a wedding photography package tailored perfectly to your needs.
